Welcome to Mr. Di Ponio's English 12 page. There are generally four units for this course, plus a Provincial Examination preparation section, which encompass all of the Prescribed Learning Outcomes. During your study of literature you will have the opportunity to do poster projects which will allow you to use programs like PowerPoint and Microsoft Publisher.
This course is quite rigorous and challenging, particularly Shakespeare. I would encourage you to team up with classmates for the Shakespeare unit and try to read the play in small groups. Mr. Di Ponio has a wide variety of notes and tools that will help you better understand the play, so please consult me when you hit road blocks. Several versions of Hamlet exist on film, and we have a few viewing areas around the school that allow you to watch the film on your own schedule.
Remember that you are encouraged, when possible, to work in small groups for some of the assignments, and please do not hesitate to ask for help when you run across problems.
