Welcome to Mr. Di Ponio's English 11 page. There are four units of study for this course, which encompass all of the Prescribed Learning Outcomes. During your study of literature you will have the opportunity to do poster projects which will allow you to use programs like PowerPoint and Microsoft Publisher.
This course is quite rigorous and challenging, particularly Shakespeare. I would encourage you to team up with classmates for the Shakespeare unit and try to read the play in small groups. Copies of the play are available in the Learning Centre. I have a wide variety of notes and tools that will help you better understand the play, so please consult me when you hit roadblocks. Also, I have several film versions of Macbeth, and there are several viewing areas in the school so that you may watch the film on your own schedule.
Remember that you are encouraged, when possible, to work in small groups for some of the assignments, and please do not hesitate to ask for help when you run across problems.
